Alternative Pbms Capture Market Attention And Adoption

Figueroa’s commentary on the industry and role of RxLogic to support stakeholders across the pharmacy benefit value chain demonstrate the impact of our technology platform and solutions.
“The mission is very patient-centric, meaning that the things that we do inside of our organization — to create transparency, to enable efficiency in the PBMs are all with a mind of how this will ultimately benefit the patient, because we feel like as we benefit the patient in optimizations that also optimizes the cost of delivering care,” Figueroa tells the Post.
What is the role of RxLogic in pharmacy benefits managers?
“We are not a PBM. We provide the software to the PBMs that enable them to run their business.
What else does RxLogic offer?
“We offer claim adjudication, and that’s both programming the formulary and then managing the claim to understand whether it’s covered or not. We also manage rebate administration and discount cards… and maintain networks.”
What about alternative PBMs? What makes them different?
“I think it's an evolution of PBMs. Historically, PBMs have not been very transparent in exposing what makes up the cost of a drug and the cost that passes through to the insurance company or the patients. In alternative PBMs, they are working to be very transparent…”
